I would like to use the less expensive version, but I can't on laptops.

I've tried the cheap versions on MyAssetTag which work great......except on laptops. They can rub off from use. Since the top is clear, I'm not sure why they don't just print between the layers (which will come off with use). BUT this AlumiGuard are more expensive, they work very well and should last per their description. not happy to have to spend more money, but I am happy with the product so far.
